March Series: Forward Motion
March 4th 11th and 18th 6:30 – 7:45 pm
So many times we look at our lives with great expectations, thinking we should be leaps from where we are. Following Jesus is about the small steps we make every day, steps of obedience, steps in relationship with Him. Sometimes those steps are small, sometimes they are big—but they are all still steps, moving us forward.
Journey Teens is for teens in 6 – 12th grade. Join us as we take first and next steps in our relationships with God, parents and peers!
February Series: Revolutionary Love!
Starting the 2nd Sunday in February, join us at Journey Teens for some really cool stuff.
Truth is life is tough and love can be hard to come by at times. We are going to be looking at love from a bunch of different angles and maybe revolutionize the way you think about love. We will be watching videos, listening to some music, talking in our discussion groups, playing some games, and even eating some food!
6:30 – 7:45 Sunday Nights at the Journey 6 – 12th grade.
Fire and Ice Winter Retreat
9th – 12th Grade January 27th – 29th
Journey Teens we will be leaving form the church Friday evening 4:30 and returning Sunday afternoon 3:00. Bring a few bucks to stop for fast food on the way back and if you need it on the way up.
Click here for a registration form and bring it with your $80 to Journey Teens Sunday the 22nd.
Journey Teens Sunday Night~ Jan. 22nd 6:30 – 7:45
We have a lot packed into this one night! I have some extra prizes to give away, games to play, and were going to be talking about packing the right stuff for our Journey of Life! Adam is going to share a little about his Proverbs Challenge, and we have a video from Steve Madole talking a little about his life journey and how wise choices have helped him in his Journey!
See you all Sunday! Parents, check out the parent cue page to find out more about the series and some conversation points from this week!
New Year, New Series!
In case you missed it at Journey Teens Sunday Night we talked about setting our actions in the direction of our desired destination.
When you get in a car to drive to the mall if you don’t take the right roads you’re not going to end up at the mall! The same is true in other aspects of life, however the directions and road maps are a little harder to follow. If we want to be an NFL player then we are going to have to do more than wish it is going to happen and watch a lot of football. Even harder sometimes is knowing what the destination should look like and making plans to get there.
When we focus our attention on pleasing God the steps we need to take can be confusing. But, we don’t want that to get in our way of living out His plan for our lives. In Jeremiah 29:11 we learn about God’s character. That he has a plan for hope and a future, it is our job to live out our part to make it happen.
Here are some questions we asked in groups last night to get us thinking about the future. What are your goals, what are your plans? Do they line up with God’s plan? Do you know how to find out what your next step is? Who is going to help you live out those Goals? Who is going to make it harder to reach them?
Next week we are going to talk about setting out on the Journey of a lifetime. We are going to look at what to pack for the trip and what to leave behind!
